Interleaved with a Manuscript Daily Weather Record of 1736

[Nathan Bowen]. The New-England Diary, Or, Almanack for the Year of Our Lord Christ, 1736...By a Native of New-England. Boston: Printed by T. Fleet, for the Booksellers, 1736.

    First edition. Twelvemo. 16 pages.

Hand-sewn self wrappers. Moderate wear, soiling, and spotting. A few scattered ink stains. A very good copy with a unique history.

This wonderful early almanac is interleaved with seven leaves (one detached) comprising a manuscript daily weather record for 1736. In addition to the weather, the ink notations record several deaths and burials. Several New England towns are mentioned, such as Framingham, Medway, Brimfield, Worcester, Medfield, Walpole, Rutland, Providence, and Boston. The person of record was most likely a traveling minister.
