First Wyeth edition, limited to 770 copies and signed by the author and the illustrator. Large octavo (9.25 x 6.75 inches; 235 x 171 mm.). [x], 400 pages. With two leaves of a facsimile letter by Wyeth, fourteen full-color plates, and two black and white plates inserted throughout. Publisher's bluish green cloth, front board and spine stamped in gilt. Top edge gilt, others untrimmed. Publisher's thick paper chemise and cardboard slipcase. Cloth spine very slightly dull, some soiling, rubbing to binding; front hinge starting; some minor occasional thumbsoiling in text. Chemise toned; some wear to joints; some soiling to panels. Slipcase with mild rubbing, soiling; joints of slipcase skillfully repaired. Near fine, housed in modern quarter black morocco clamshell case. From the James C. Seacrest Collection.
