"I do so wish I could come; it would be
most delightful. Only I can't possibly..."

[Max Beerbohm]. Group of Six ALS from Max Beerbohm on Upper Berkeley Street Letterhead. 1900, 1908, and n.d. Letters in the hand of Max Beerbohm to Mrs. Douglas, Lady Gregory, a Mr. Thomas, Emery Walker, and two others. Mostly dealing with invitations and appointments. The Thomas letter mentions his caricatures of "Sir William Harwurg [?]/ Sir Gilbert Parker/ Mr Ernest Beckett/ Mr Hall Caine." Approximately 4 x 6 inches, 4.5 x 7 inches, and 5 x 8 inches. Each foldover lettersheet has also been folded horizontally to mail. Five of the letters are written on two pages each and one is on three. Three of the letters have paper and glue remnants on their versos, one of which has paper loss along its vertical fold and stains in its upper border from paperclip use. Another letter has a hole-punch in its front page and in its back page with very minor loss to text. Light fold and edge wear, small fold separations, unobtrusive holograph pencil dealer's numbers on corners, minor creases, light foxing or minor stains; else in very good condition.
