Mark Twain's Love Letters, Signed by Him as Both Clemens and Twain

[Mark Twain]. Dixon Wecter, editor. The Love Letters of Mark Twain. New York: Harper & Brothers, 1949. First edition, number 30 of 155 copies signed by Twain as Mark Twain and Samuel Clemens on the limitation page. Octavo. 374 pages. Publisher's full black cloth with paper spine label. Unprinted teal dust jacket with paper spine label. Housed in publisher's paper slipcase with corresponding numbered label affixed to front. Some minor staining to the jacket. An exceptionally fine book in a near fine jacket.

    More Information:

Twain had a business arrangement with Harper & Brothers in 1899 that he would sign 155 special sheets with the understanding that his love letters would not be published for 50 years. Presumably all persons mentioned in the letters would be deceased by that time or at an age where it would matter little. The letters range from September 7, 1868 to July 24, 1904.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
