K. de Rives issue, limited to 330 copies, of which this is number 153, and signed by both the author and the illustrator. Folio (15.25 x 11.25 inches; 385 x 287 mm.). Full-color frontispiece and twenty-five original color plates by Chagall. Loosely bound, as issued. Publisher's printed wrappers; in original glassine and pictorial slipcase. Spine of wrappers creased and chipped; spine with a few short tears; some rubbing to wrappers. Glassine spine perished; glassine chipped, edgeworn and with several tears. Slipcase edgeworn and toned; some soiling to slipcase; a few internal repairs to slipcase. A very good copy of this beautifully illustrated book. From the James C. Seacrest Collection.
