[Louis XIV]. l'Office de la Semaine Sainte,
Corrigé de Nouveau, Par le Commandement du Roy. Conformément au
Breviaire & Messel de N. S. Pere le Pape Urbain VIII. Nouvelle
Edition, corrigée & augmentée. Paris: Chez Charles Fosset,
[n.d., ca. 1623-1644]. Octavo. [iv], 512 pages. With
copperplate-engraved frontispiece and four plates, each augmented
in gilt. Text neatly bordered in brown ink, some neat ink rules on
a few pages and on plates, a few initials augmented in gilt. Bound
in a contemporary royal binding of full burgundy crushed levant
morocco, boards triple-ruled in gilt, with a field of gilt-stamped
crowns over stylized "L's," alternating with the fleur-du-lys.
Spine tooled in gilt in compartments with the stylized crowns over
the "L's," gilt board-edges, marbled endleaves. Some rubbing to
binding, corners a bit bumped, some offsetting to endleaves, faint
inkstamp of Anne Louise Léonie, Countess of Rochechouart Mortemart,
on first binder's blank, some intermittent thumbsoiling or minor
dampstaining, one leaf with lower corner missing (not affecting
text), one leaf with a small area of repair to margin. A fine
example of a lovely item. Housed in a beautiful custom-built full
morocco clamshell case, gilt-stamped in a manner similar to the
book. From a private collection from New Orleans.
More Information:
On the recto of the final blank leaf is a (near?) contemporary note in ink in an unknown hand stating that this book was presented to Louis XIV at Versailles. (as well as a note of explanation of the term "nycticorax" which is underlined in red ink on page 483).

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
HA.com receives more traffic than any other auction house website. (Source: Similarweb.com)
