Perhaps the Most Comprehensive Collection of Alchemical Works in the Western World

[Lazarus Zetzner]. Theatrum Chemicum, Praecipuosse Lectorum Auctorum Tractatus de Chemiae et Lapidis Philosophici Antiquitate, veritate, iure, praestantia & operationibus.... [Oberursel]: Ursellis, 1602. Unknown edition. Two volumes in one. Octavo. 901, [22] index; 630, [6] index pages. Several illustrations in text including one folding table. Bound in vellum. Staining and trivial tears to several pages, else very good condition.

Theatrum Chemicum was a compendium of early alchemical writings published in six volumes over the course of six decades. The first three volumes were published in 1602, while the final sixth volume was published in its entirety in 1661. Theatrum Chemicum is probably the most comprehensive collection of alchemical writings ever published in the Western world. Lazarus Zetzner is credited with editing and publishing the work, though he was undoubtedly the author of much of it.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
