    [Joseph Holt Ingraham.] Lafitte: the Pirate of the Gulf. New York: Harper & Brothers, 1836. First edition. Two 12mo volumes. A married set with two variant bindings: green cloth (vol. I) and brown cloth (vol. II). In custom gilt-stamped slipcase. The preliminary advertisement page (vol. I) is missing the lower third. Light foxing throughout. Volume two has mild water stains. General shelf-wear to bindings. Overall, very good.

    As per the BAL, volume one has page 203 as "303"; and volume two has errata notice on page 212.


    The second novel published in book form by the prolific Ingraham. The novel is set mostly in New Orleans and the Gulf of Mexico, with the Battle of New Orleans as a historical backdrop.
