Three Copies of the Kingsley Amis'
James Bond Dossier - Two Proof Copies
    and a Signed First Edition

[Ian Fleming, association]. Kingsley Amis. The James Bond Dossier. London: Jonathan Cape, [1965]. Uncorrected Proof. Octavo. 159, [1, blank] pages. Publisher's printed paper wrappers. In the Proof dust jacket ("Proof Only" on the front flap). Jacket is taller than the book, so there is some bumping at top of jacket. Jacket spine toned and worn at edges, some creases to jacket, some rubbing to jacket, spine of book a bit toned and creased, some rubbing to wrappers, previous owner's signature on first page. Still, fine. [Together with:] Another copy of the Uncorrected Proof. Original publisher's printed wrappers. Wrappers heavily scuffed (front panel lacking "Uncorrected Proof" notice), rear wrapper with jagged hole, with tape residue on inner rear wrapper. Spine toned and worn, text with some intermittent soiling and a few stray ink markings. Fair. [Together with:]. Another copy. First edition. With Kingsley Amis' rare signature on the title-page. Octavo. 159, [1, blank] pages. Publisher's full black cloth, front board stamped in blind, spine lettered in gilt, dust jacket. Jacket spine toned, some rubbing and light toning to jacket edges, minor rubbing to binding, else fine.
Proof copies of this title are very rare - even more so with the jacket. Signed copies by Amis are also rare. From the James Bond collection of Gary Firuta.

We had a wonderful time in New York during the October 2013 Historical Manuscripts auction that featured my mother’s papers collected during her tenure as Martin Luther King, Jr.’s secretary. In fact, the entire experience from beginning to end has been a pleasure.
