    First editions: the two volumes covering racing from 1665-1865 are limited to 800 copies; the volume covering 1937-1959 is limited to 1,000 copies. Presumably the other volumes, though unstated are of similar limitation. Five quarto volumes. xii, 315; ix, 416; x, 249; x, 293; xiv, 264 pages. Lavishly illustrated.

    All volumes quarter buckram tan or brown cloth over tan or gray cloth, except the last volume which is full brown cloth. Titles printed on white paper spine labels. Page edges untrimmed. All volumes with light to moderate shelf wear, especially at the corners which are bumped and abraded. The volume written by Vosburgh covering racing from 1866-1921, has moderate staining on the front board. Otherwise all volumes are generally in very good condition.
