London: Printed by S. Griffin, for H. Twyford, Tho. Dring, and I. Place, 1660. First edition in English. Small folio. Frontispiece engraved by David Loggan (1634-1692), (8), 327, (9) pages. With two-page engraved illustration featuring bird's eye views of twelve Italian towns including Siena, Genoa, Milan, Florence, Venice, Parma, and Verona among others. A slightly larger map of Italy appears at the center of the spread. A second two-page engraved illustration of cathedrals and other bird's eye views of Rome, Naples and three other cities appears later in the book. Original dark calf, rebacked, with new spine and endpapers; leather spine label. Significant rubbing to corners. Original rear endpapers torn; previous owners' signatures and notes on front endpapers. Interior generally clean and tight with some scattered worm holes rarely affecting text. Good solid copy.
