    [Fore-Edge Paintings]. The Knight of Gwynne. London: Downey and Co., Limited, 1897. From the Copyright Edition of the Novels of Charles Lever (volumes IX and X). Two octavo volumes. With two colorful and detailed fore-edge paintings, one on each volume. Bound by Zaehnsdorf in elegant full green calf, boards triple-ruled in gilt, black gilt morocco floral cornerpieces, spines elaborately tooled in gilt, with black gilt morocco lettering labels and floral labels, gilt board edges and turn-ins, green calf pastedowns. Spines sunned, one floral spine label missing from volume X, some wear to bindings, dampstaining to lower edge of volume X (binding and text), volume X front pastedown repaired and restored, front free endpaper chipped, still a good set with marvelous fore-edge paintings.
