    More Information:

    Tomasini (1597-1654) Bishop of Citta Nuova. He was born in Padua of a noble family. He studied under Benedetti of Legano and entered the congregation of the regular canons of St. George. He earned the degree of doctor in the faculty of Theology at Padua in 1619.  He was the author of several works covering subjects from Petrarch to Livy but always with a strong reference to his home city of Padua. His Lives of Illustrious Paduans was illustrated after pictures in his collection. There was a supplemental volume published some 14 years later which is not present here. Elogia: BL. 17th c.
