    More Information:

Cohausen (1655-1750) was a physician in Hildesheim who was noted for his satiric sense of humor. He wrote works against the use of snuff, coffee, and tea. This is a rare parody on the vanity of the clergy. One of the illustrations in this book depicts a "Monsieur L'Abbe, Prenant du Tabac" who is using snuff. {Not in Arents}. "Seine Schriten sind polemisch-satirischer Natur und tragen in ihrer wUusten Gelehrsamkeit und dem Mangel jeder Kritik den Stempel des 17. Jahrhunderts. "[Hirsch]. STCN 000008. Bayle/Thillaye Ii, 120-1. Hirsch II, 49. OCLC 32803337. (two copies-- one in US another in Scotland.) Not in RLIN.

We had a wonderful time in New York during the October 2013 Historical Manuscripts auction that featured my mother’s papers collected during her tenure as Martin Luther King, Jr.’s secretary. In fact, the entire experience from beginning to end has been a pleasure.
