[Ernest Hemingway]. Pair of Hemingway's Daybooks. [New York]: 1937-1938.

    More Information:

[Ernest Hemingway]. Pair of Hemingway's Daybooks. [New York City: William R Warner & Co.], 1937-1938. Two volumes of Warner's Calendar of Medical History, labeled with years 1937 and 1938. The 1937 volume is unused, but the 1938 volume contains two Hemingway entries: January 1,"Money received 1938 / Scribners, Esquire, Ken, Cosmopolitan nontaxable, Warners, Stock sale 748.00, Bonds, other Stocks, [and] Douglas 40.00;" and January 3, only one word, "Expenses". Both copies measure 5.25 x 8 inches. Publisher's limp leather, years in gilt on spine, all edges gilt and come housed in a brown custom cloth-bound slipcase. Some rubbing and shelfwear on bindings. The 1937 volume has "Ernest Hemingway" in gilt lettering on the front cover, slight loss on front joint. The 1938 volumes has vertical crease in the middle of the front cover and minor soiling to front free endpaper. Overall, very good.
