Housed in black morocco pull-off box with rounded back and five raised bands. Box lacking back panel of upper section. [together with:] An Impartial History of the War in America, between Great Britain and the United States, from Its Commencement to the End of the War: Exhibiting a circumstantial, connected, and complete Account of the real Cause, Rise, and Progress of the war... Vol. II. Boston: Printed by Nathaniel Coverly and Robert Hodge, 1782. Five (out of seven) copper plate portrait illustrations ("Horatio Gates" with a vertical tear down its image area). Lacking last leaf of Appendix and following. Full calf. Front board detached.

    Both bindings rubbed, soiled, chipped and scratched. Some loose pages. Pages soiled, stained, and over-opened. Foxing and browning. Tears and minor paper losses. Occasional holograph ink marks and annotations. Fair.
