Description[Edgard Tijtgat, illustrator]. Charles Perrault. Le Petit Chaperon Rouge. Bruxelles [Brussels]: C. Van Oest, no date . Limited edition "Hors Commerce" of 40 copies printed to Papier de Chine, of which this is numbered "30B," signed and additionally signed and inscribed by the artist to the limitation page (dated 1921 and 1924, respectively). Octavo.  leaves of text, text printed to verso only,  colophon leaf. Each "leaf" a bifolium with fore-edge fold, strengthened with heavy tan paper between the fold. With sixteen full-page linocut illustrations by Edgard Tijtgat, each printed in two states, one in color and the other in brown. Original color linocut illustrated boards. Moderate edgewear, chipping to head and foot of spine panel with some losses, somewhat toned, foxed, and worn. Color linocut floral- patterned endpapers. Somewhat foxed, minor toning, other minor scattered wear. A lovely version of Perrault's popular tale, combining avant-garde and folk-art styles. Very Good.
