    [Dutter]. Propriac; Hervey. Pair of Vera E. Dutter Fore-Edge Paintings: Histoire Sainte and Meditations and Contemplations. Paris and London: Various publisher's, 1810- circa mid-19th century. Fore-edge paintings depicting "Madonna and Child with infant St. John" and "Sistine Madonna and Child," both signed and titled. [Sieur de] Propriac. Histoire Sainte A L'Usage de la Jeunesse. Paris: Gérard, 1810. Tome Second (Volume II only). Fore-edge painting by Vera Elinor Dutter depicting "Madonna and child with infant St. John," after Andrea del Sarto, signed and titled, circa mid-20th century. 12mo in fours. Contemporary straight grain red morocco decorated in gilt with gilt decorated and lettered spine. Rebacked with original spine laid down, moderate edgewear, somewhat rubbed and darkened. Inner dentelles gilt, pale green moiré silked endpaper stamped in gilt; bookplate detached from front pastedown but laid in, silk somewhat faded and worn, chipping to edges with some losses, binder's ticket "Gueffir" to front free endpaper recto. Internally generally clean and tight, all edges gilt; Dutter's signed and titled inscription in black ink to front blank verso, text block lightly toned, somewhat foxed, moderate text block edgewear. Good or better with bright, but somewhat worn, fore-edge painting.

Fore-edge painting by Vera Elinor Dutter depicting "Sistine Madonna and Child," after Raphael, signed and titled, circa mid-20th century. Small 12mo. 358, [2] pages. Contemporary black crushed morocco decorated in gilt and ruled in gilt and blind, spine decorated in gilt and blind with three raised bands and gilt-stamped red leather spine label, gilt roll to edges. Moderate edgewear, joints starting, somewhat rubbed. Inner dentelles decorated in blind, marbled endpapers; bookplate and bookseller's ticker to front pastedown. Internally generally clean and tight, all edges gilt; ink ownership and Dutter's signed and titled inscription in black ink to front blank recto, text block lightly toned, somewhat foxed, moderate text block edgewear. Good or better with bright, but somewhat worn, fore-edge painting.
