[xii], 400; [xii], 437 pages. Portrait frontispiece in Volume I. Publisher's sturdy black cloth with gilt titles. Original printed dust jackets. Minor edge wear to boards. Sunning to jacket spines. Near fine condition. Loosely inserted in Volume I are two Autograph Letters Signed by T. J. Cobden-Sanderson, with the original mailing envelopes. In one letter, dated 1911 and headed "The Doves Press, Hammersmith," Cobden-Sanderson discusses at some length a commission to bind a book at Doves for a customer named James Blake. Transcripts of the letters by Newbegin's Books in San Francisco are included. Also laid in are a Doves Press prospectus and a pamphlet printed at Doves Press entitled, "The City Planned."
