Publisher's patterned cloth with paper spine label. Covers well rubbed and soiled with abrading to spine ends, turned corners and spine label. Slight lean with text block somewhat crimped at bottom. Moderate foxing and toning to pages with a touch of light dampstaining to the bottom edge. Drawing lightly toned with a hint of mat burn. Otherwise, a better than good copy of the author's first book with a wonderful drawing by illustrator D. C. Johnston laid in.
