Quarto. [228] leaves. Lacking title, preliminaries, and leaves A1-A4, where three blank leaves are inserted. Printed in red and black from start through leaf x3, decorated initials, large historiated initial of the crucifixion on verso of G1 and smaller historiated initial on verso of s4, showing a singer of psalms. Rebound with new leather spine and corners, incorporating original brown leather covered boards decorated with dark rules, floral patterns, gilt fleurons and crucifixion design; metal clasps with new leather straps, four raised spine bands with gilt title and date, new endpapers, bookplate of Anne C. Morrel to front pastedown, holograph pencil notes to front free endpaper and rear pastedown. Boards rubbed and scratched, leather lacking at edges and corners where not repaired, some loss of rear board at clasps, few small holes in covers from biopredation; text block trimmed around margins only affecting some holograph ink annotations, paper repairs to corners and outer margins from beginning up to leaf E1, leaves t1-v2 trimmed along lower margins (perhaps added from another copy), holograph pen marks and annotations, some smudges and stains, else a good repaired copy.
