    [Cast-Signed Book]. Robinson Jeffers. Medea. New York: Random House, [1946]. First edition. Inscribed by Jeffers and members of the 1947-1948 cast and crew, including Judith Anderson, John Gielgud, and Albert S. Hecht (who owned this copy).

    Signed by Dame Judith Anderson on the dedication page (Jeffers, a close friend of Anderson, wrote this play for her and dedicated it to her). Signed by Jeffers and members of the cast and crew of the 1947-1948 stage play on the verso of the dedication page, including John Gielgud, Dennis Mc Carthy, Gene Lee, Marian Seldes  and about thirty others. The copy belonging to Albert S. Hecht (who played Creon), with his ownership signature and schedule notes on the front free endpaper, as well as a few pencil notes throughout. Octavo. [viii], [107], [1, blank] pages. Publisher's black cloth backstrip over brown paper boards, spine lettered in gilt, price-clipped dust jacket. Jacket sunned and rubbed, with a few chips missing, some rubbing to binding. Front hinge starting. Very good. Housed in custom-built cloth clamshell case.
