Strahan, etc., 1729. First edition. Folio. Approximately 15 x 9.25 inches. xviii, 150 pages. With seventy-nine engraved plates on sixty-eight leaves, two folding, ten double-page, uncolored. Title-page printed in red and black. Bound in contemporary half brown calf over marbled boards, spine ruled and tooled in gilt, burgundy gilt morocco lettering label. Spine sunned, binding somewhat worn, front hinge starting. Short tear to the bottom of page 141, not affecting text, text leaves creased with some occasional foxing. With the bookplate of the Horticultural Society of New York. Overall, a very good copy with bright, clean plates.
