London: Bernard Quaritch, 1889. 29 pages of text plus 103 superb plates in gold and color by Griggs. [and:] Examples of the Art of Book-Illumination During the Middle Ages. London: Bernard Quaritch, 1889-1892. No text. 113 plates in gold and color by Griggs. Some original wrappers bound in. Two large octavo volumes. Both volumes bound in matching three-quarter green morocco over green cloth with gilt spine titles. Top edges gilt. Bindings worn, shaken and cracked in places, noticeably in Volume I, in which the binding is broken about a third of the way through the book. Some preliminaries loose in each volume. Two bookplates to each pastedown. Occasional minor foxing. Overall, both volumes in very good condition with stunning color plates.
