    Description

[Bill Wilson]. Alcoholics Anonymous. The story of how more than one hundred men have recovered from alcoholism. New York City: Works Pub. Co., 1939. First edition, first printing, in an unrestored first issue dust jacket. Large octavo. 400 pages. Publisher's bright red cloth, upper board and spine stamped in gilt; original illustrated dust jacket. Head and foot of spine just pushed, corners just bumped. Ivory endpapers; some offsetting, ink gift inscription to the front free endpaper recto. Internally clean and tight, all edges trimmed; text block edges toned with minor foxing and wear. Dust jacket without price listed, as issued; minor edgewear, chipping to head and foot of spine with some losses, creased along folds, spine sunned, somewhat rubbed. Near fine book with very good or better dust jacket.

A stunning copy of this highly sought-after book, featuring an especially bright first issue dust jacket without much of the wear typically seen on this title.
