Geneva Bible, Tomson version. Folio (15.75 x 10.25 inches; 394 x 268 mm.). A3-A6, B1-B5, C1-C6, D1-D3, 532, [i], 147 fols. Black letter text in double-columns. Illustrated throughout with woodcuts. With the Psalms and Apocrypha, and their woodcut title-pages reckoned within pagination. Title-page for the Newe Testament with woodcut map of the Holy Land on verso. Lacking the front and rear blanks, and the title-page is supplied in facsimile. Contemporary calf, since restored; boards decoratively paneled in black, spine tooled in blind, with brown gilt morocco lettering label. With brass central and cornerpieces on boards. Possibly later marbled endleaves. Binding worn; joints cracking; hinges cracked; leaf A3 with small hole in center of text; text thumbsoiled throughout. Fols. 28, 48-52, 55-71, 102-113, 131-147 in Newe Testament with restoration at upper corners, with some loss (fols. 131-147 remargined, with significant loss to fols. 136-147).
