    [Arthur Rackham, illustrator]. Kenneth Grahame. The Wind in the Willows. New York: The Limited Editions Club, 1940. One of 2,200 copies, this being copy number 416, signed by the designer, Bruce Rogers. Quarto. [2], 244, [2] pages. With sixteen mounted color plates inserted throughout. Publisher's beige buckram backstrip over paper boards, spine lettered in gilt. Top edge gilt, others uncut. In publisher's cardboard slipcase. Cloth spine a bit dull; very minor rubbing to the edges of the binding; bookseller's ticket on rear pastedown; previous owner's bookplate on front pastedown. Slipcase worn; some glue repairs to slipcase with visible residue. Overall, a fine copy. Laid-in is the publisher's slip advising of Rackham's death. "This was the final book Arthur Rackham illustrated before his death in 1939." (Riall, pp. 197-198). Rackham passed away before he could sign the limitation page. From the James C.
