    First trade edition. Quarto. xii, 125 pages. Fifty color plates mounted on brown paper, with descriptive tissue guards.

    Finely bound by Zaehnsdorf (stamp-signed and dated 1907) in full reddish-brown morocco, front cover decoratively stamped in gilt to match the original binding, spine paneled and lettered in gilt in compartments, five raised bands, gilt board edges and turn-ins; brown endpapers. All edges trimmed and gilt. Original gilt-stamped red cloth front cover and spine bound in. Some scuffing to bottom edges of boards. Front hinge cracked and rear hinge starting, with a three-inch separation of rear board from binding; binding still quite tight and sturdy. Front free endpaper is missing the very tip of its lower corner. Bookplate to front pastedown. Interior bright and clean. A near fine copy.
