Woody Guthrie Typed Letter Signed. One Page, 7.5" x 9.75", ruled page from a writing tablet, Brooklyn, New York, March 19, 1946. When he typed this letter to his record producers, Woodrow Wilson Guthrie (1912-1967) had recently completed a hitch with the U.S. Army after being drafted during the waning days of World War II. (He originally had enlisted in the Merchant Marine but had been discharged due to his "communist" connections.) Opening his missive, Guthrie writes "Dear Moe: Asch's Crashes", referring to Moses ("Moe") Asch, founder of Folkways Records, whom the legendary singer-songwriter had met in 1944. Guthrie's signature song, "This Land is Your Land," was first recorded by Asch. The letter has excellent content, with Guthrie referring to his album Ballads from the Dust Bowl and the songs "Pastures of Plenty" and "Rambling Blues." He follows his typed name with the signature "Woody Guthrie". The letter is in very good condition with folds, slight bends to the corners and some tiny nicks on the right edge.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
