William Henry Harrison Autograph Letter Signed with Franking Signature. One page of a bifolium, 8" x 9.75", Washington; January 25, [circa 1820s]. Addressed to his nephew, Benjamin Harrison [VII], who was a lawyer in Virginia, at the Berkley Plantation in Charles City. It reads in part: "Your letter enclosing the Memorial of Major Lennox was duly received...I have this moment returned from the Treasury where I want to inquire about your claim...have your man send me a copy of them. It is by this means above that their Nation & values can be known. Send them immediately & I will let you know all about them. I wrote this only to give you the above information & will write...when I receive yours. Your cousin John Mercer now sits by me and joins in affectionate regards to you & yours." Signed, "W H Harrison."

Address is made out entirely in Harrison's hand adding his Free Frank: "Free / W. H. Harrison."

Condition: Paper loss from removal of wax seal when letter was opened. Letter has separated along some creases, but has been professionally repaired on verso. Remnants of wax seal remain. Letter is otherwise gently rubbed with some intermittent toning.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
