Description

William F. "Buffalo Bill" Cody: Significant Autograph Letter Signed to Sister Julia Cody, Signed "Brother." In the first paragraph of this 1913 letter, Cody, in failing health, pours out his heart to Julia: "One week ago today I was very ill in Knoxville. I am not at all strong, I have had lots of trouble for years financially. And no vacations. Work and worry has broken my once iron constitution." But, in the second paragraph, he expresses some optimism for his Arizona mining venture, as he describes efforts to secure a commitment from a group of Canadian "capitalists" to infuse money and take over operations. Outstanding condition, with original mailing envelope. From the Collection of the Late Edward C. Gillette.
