Werner Heisenberg Autograph Letter Signed "Werner Heisenberg". One page in German, on Heisenberg's personal stationery, 8.25" x 11.75", Munich [or Gottingen?]; October 19, 1958. Letter from Heisenberg to the cellist Ludwig Hoelscher (1907-1996), in which he writes [English translation] in part, "I thank you again for the beautiful evening in Gottingen, especially for the continuation of the concert in our home. It was an unusual pleasure for us that after the wonderful Haydn performance in the concert hall you played sonatas for half the night in our private circle. As you know 'Hausmusik' means a great deal to me and even in our modest family circle we can be deeply moved by the joy of music taking shape in front of us."

An English translation and a photocopy from a dealer catalog, accompanies the letter.

Condition: Letter has usual folds; otherwise very good.

More Information: Werner Karl Heisenberg (1901-1976) was a German theoretical physicist and one of the key pioneers of quantum mechanics. He was awarded the 1932 Nobel Prize in Physics.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
