    U.S. Flag Carried to the Moon on Apollo 10! Affixed to a 12" x 14" wooden shield plaque is a 5.75" x 3.75" U.S. flag and the Apollo 10 patch, covered in clear plastic. The 6" x 3" plaque affixed certifies that "This Flag traveled on/ Apollo X/ with the first LM to the moon/ May 18-26 1969/ Presented to MSgt Joe D. Garino Jr./ by/ Col. T.P. Stafford USAF/ Cmdr. E.A. Cernan USN/ Cmdr. J.W. Young USN." Apollo 10 was the dress rehearsal for the moon landing. The Lunar Module (LM) was taken to within 10 miles of the lunar surface. With all its mission objectives achieved, Apollo 10, with this flag aboard, set the stage for the first manned moon landing just two months later. From the collection of renowned former physical trainer of the astronauts Joe Garino. This lot is accompanied by a signed certificate of authentication from Garino verifying its provenance.
