    Zachary Taylor Document Signed "Z. Taylor" as president. One partially-printed page, 17.25" x 14.5", "City of Washington," October 31, 1849, countersigned by State Secretary John M. Clayton. The twelfth president signs this document appointing John C. Clark of New York "Solicitor of the Treasury of the United States." Contains a blind-embossed paper seal in the lower left corner. With folds. Unevenly toned around the margins due to matting.
