Woodrow Wilson Signed Military Commission, one page on vellum, 15" x 19", Washington, D.C., December 16, 1916. Here, on the cusp of America's entry into World War I, Stephen T. Bandy is appointed an infantry captain. The text of the commission is placed between two finely engraved vignettes of patriotic and martial subjects. Also signed by Newton D. Baker, Secretary of War.
