Description

Woodrow Wilson Naval Appointment Signed. Single sheet of vellum, 14 1/2 x 18 1/4 inches (sight); Washington; June 9, 1913. Albert T. Weston is appointed "an Assistant Surgeon in the Medical Reserve Corps of the Navy, with the rank of Lieutenant, junior grade." Signed "Woodrow Wilson," and countersigned by Josephus Daniels as Secretary of the Navy. With maritime vignettes at the top and bottom, as well as the blue paper seal affixed to the center of the bottom vignette. Matted and framed to the overall size of 22 1/2 x 26 1/4 inches. Not examined outside of frame.

Condition: Flattened folds, some light wrinkling, and some wear and cracking to the blue paper seal at bottom. Wilson's signature is a little light but remains legible. Frame in good condition, with some scuffs and worn corners.
