Description

Woodrow Wilson Military Appointment Signed "Woodrow Wilson." One partially printed page of vellum, 15.5" x 19.5", Washington, D.C.; January 13, 1917. Appointing "George Moseley... Captain of Field Artillery." With an intact blue paper seal. Decorated at the top and bottom margins with military vignettes. Countersigned by Newton D. Baker as Secretary of War.

Signed as the United States prepared for entry into World War I, which would occur just three months later in April.

Condition: There is a closed tear to the paper seal. Boldly signed.
