    Description

William McKinley Typed Letter Signed. One page, 5.5" x 8.5", on McKinley's personal letterhead, November 18, 1896. A letter to Reverend John Lewis Clark thanking him for "congratulations and good wishes". McKinley had been elected President two weeks earlier, on November 3, in what would become a critical, or "realigning" election. The Republican party would become the dominant party until the election of Democratic Woodrow Wilson in 1912.

Condition: Slightly toned, mail folds, small circular stain at top, likely resulting from being previously bound with a metal clip.
