William McKinley 1898 Chickasaw Nation Act Signed A three page document, legal size, Tishomingo City (Oklahoma), November 9, 1899, signed on the front page by William McKinley as U.S. President and by C. D. Carter as National Secretary of the Chickasaw Nation. It is an act of the Legislature of the Chickasaw Nation "authorizing Lewis V. Colbert to establish and maintain a ferry at the Mannsville Crossing, on the Washita River." The act spells out the details of the agreement including the charges for transport of vehicles, sheep, goats, hogs and men. Interesting item. Accompanied by COA from PSA/DNA.Auction Info
