    Description

    William Howard Taft Typed Document Signed "Wm. H. Taft" as secretary of war. One carbon copy page with docketing on the verso, 8.5" x 14", November 29, 1905, n.p. [Washington, D.C.], with an attached folded blueprint, 23.5" x 13.5". Some weakness at the folds, very minor staining, and one-half or the seal missing, else very good.

    More Information:

    The document gives permission for the Great Falls and Old Dominion Railroad Company to lay an electric street-railway track across the Aqueduct Bridge on the United States Military Reservation in Alexandra County, Virginia. The blueprint, attached with the original silk ribbon shows the proposed track on the bridge. The ribbon is attached to the signed page with a blind embossed War Office blue paper seal.
