    Description

William Henry Harrison Manuscript Document Signed "Wm H Harrison" as Commander, one page, 7.5" x 3.5", Fort Washington, September 20, 1796, requesting the quartermaster "to furnish for the Hospital Department one quire of writing paper." Harrison joined the army in 1791, and was sent to the Northwest Territory where he served under "Mad" Anthony Wayne. Under Wayne's command, he fought at the Battle of Fallen Timbers in 1794; and the following year, signed the Treaty of Greenville which effectively opened the way for settlement of what is today Ohio. A fine and early example of Harrison's signature.
