Description

William H. Taft Signed Extract from an Address Delivered at the Sixth Convention of the World's Sunday School Association. One page of a White House imprinted bifolium, 7" x 9"; May 19, 1910. In part: "No matter what views are taken of general education, we all agree - Protestant, Catholic and Jew alike - that Sunday school education is absolutely necessary to secure moral uplift and religious spirit".

During his 1908 campaign for the presidency, Taft's religious beliefs as a Unitarian had come under scrutiny. His opponents often suggested that he was "irreligious". From the Estate of Malcolm S. Forbes.

Condition: Minimal soiling and toning, darker on verso. Usual mail folds, else fine.
