    Description

William and Helen Taft Signature Lot. This lot features three items from the First Family. One typed letter signed by Taft himself, and two signature cards, one signed by William and the other signed by Helen Taft. The typed letter measures 5.5" x 9", and is dated January 13, 1907, he signs it "Wm. H. Taft." It was written during Taft's term as Secretary of War. The War Department's letterhead appears at the top. The William H. Taft signature card measures 3.5" x 2.5' and is signed, "Wm. H. Taft." The final signature card measures 5" x 3", and reads, 'Sincerely yours- Helen H, Taft. Washington, D.C." All three pieces are in Good condition; some soiling has occurred on the pieces, staining the white paper. The typed letter has some slight bleeding of the ink it was typed in. In all cases, the signatures are dark and legible. A nice lot! From the Henry E. Luhrs Collection. Accompanied by LOA from PSA/DNA.
