One partially-printed vellum page, 12.5" x 7.5", "City of Washington", January 16, 1809, The document appoints "William M. Hunter a Midshipman in the Navy of the United States" with an embossed U. S. Navy Department seal in top left. Smoothed folds and light soiling along the sides. Matted and framed with a photograph to an overall size of 29" x 18.5".
