    Description

    Thomas Jefferson Land Grant Signed "Th Jefferson." One partially printed page of vellum, 11.75" x 14.25", Washington, D.C.; May 25, 1803. A land grant authorizing a tract of 500 acres be given to Henry Hughes, former Lieutenant in the Navy during the Revolutionary War. Also signed by James Madison as Secretary of State. With partially intact orange seal at lower left.

    Condition: Flattened folds, with a few small holes along fold lines. Chipping to top edge. Light uneven toning throughout. As mentioned, orange seal is only partially intact. Clear signatures by Jefferson and Madison.
