    Thomas Jefferson Free Frank Signed Cover. One page of laid paper, 9.75" x 8" overall, signed "free Th. Jefferson Pres. U.S." at the upper-left corner when folded. Postmarked Washington; March 24, [?], and addressed to Mr. John H. Freeman, Monticello, near Milton. Though undated, the overseer of Monticello from August 22, 1805 through autumn 1806 was John H. Freeman, dating this piece to Jefferson's presidency.

    Condition: Folded and toned, with the remnants of a broken seal, and some soiling and wear due to age and handling. A few spots of foxing, with one small pencil notation. Minor repairs have been made to the reverse where the seal was torn.
