First edition, limited to 1,000 copies, of which this is number 835. Signed beneath his portrait frontispiece, "Theodore Roosevelt." Large quarto (11 x 7.75 inches). [xxx], 323, [1, blank], viii, 476, [2, blank] pages. With numerous plates inserted throughout. Publisher's full beige buckram, front board and spine stamped in black and gilt, rear board stamped in black. Top edge gilt, others untrimmed.

    Condition: Spine and boards are rubbed and soiled. Sprung. Hinges weak, but holding. Pages 475, 476, final blank and rear free endpaper detached but present. Internally foxed and toned in places.
