    Description

    Theodore Roosevelt Military Appointment Signed. One partially printed page, 16" x 19.5", Washington, D.C.; May 5, 1902. A document appointing "Louis M. Maus...Deputy Surgeon General with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel". Countersigned by Elihu Root as secretary of war. With handsome engraved military and patriotic vignettes and a blue U.S. War Office seal at the lower left corner. Docketing at the top left corner.

    Condition: Flattened folds with light age toning around the edges. There is a small spot of soiling at the end of Roosevelt's signature. Some minor warping, else good.
