Description
Ronald Reagan Typed Letters (2) Signed. Includes:Ronald Reagan Typed Letter Signed "Dutch." One page, 7.25" x 10.5"; Sacramento; January 28, 1969. Written on Governor's Office letterhead, the letter is addressed to long-time friends Myrtle and Norman Moon: "It was good to get your note, although the sad occasion that prompted it finds me sharing your sorrow and the same feeling of end-of-an-era as occurs so often at times like this. I was amazed to discover how clear and vivid my memories are, going all the way back to the days in Davenport before the move to Des Moines and, of course, continuing through those happy years." Accompanied by the original transmittal envelope.
Ronald Reagan Typed Letter Signed "Dutch." One page, 8.5" x 11"; Los Angeles, California; January 22, 1975. A letter to Myrtle Moon written shortly after leaving office as governor of California. He writes: "As you can imagine, it has been a time of mixed emotions. First of all, saying good bye to a team that really was about as great a gang of people as any government could hope to have in service. Then, too, the move represents a drastic change from being able to do something about problems back to talking about them..."
Condition: The 1969 letter has flattened folds and light staining at the top. The envelope is age toned and has been sliced open at the top, with a small bit of paper loss. There are a few stray stains on the front of the envelope. The 1975 letter has flattened folds and there is a long crease at the lower left corner. The letter has a few areas of foxing.
