    Millard Fillmore Military Appointment Signed "Millard Fillmore". One partially printed page, 13.5" x 16.5" (sight), Washington, D.C.; September 2, 1852. Fillmore appoints "John J. Abercrombie... Lieutenant Colonel of the Second Regiment of Infantry". The document bears the two elaborate vignettes of the American eagle and the flags, cannons, trumpets and pikes; with paper and wax seal of the United States War Office affixed in the upper left portion of the document. Co-signed by Charles M. Conrad as Secretary of War, with docketing at the upper left corner. Framed to the overall size of 14.75" x 17.75".

    Condition: Document has buckling, with light creasing throughout. Light toning in places. Fillmore's signature is slightly faded.
